Q, I am on active duty. Do I qualify for membership in the American Legion>
A. Yes. Anyone who has served for at least 1 day of active duty under federal orders and has served with honor or is still serving qualifies.
Q. I did not serve in a combat zone. Do I qualify?
A. Yes. After many years of trying to pass a bill through Congress, the American Legion got the Legion Act passed and it was signed into law by President Trump. Now any veteran who served since Dec. 7th 1941 to present is eligible.
